Did you use the same silicate-based stain on the roof?

I had no idea you could just paint shingles like that - is there a lot of upkeep (to the roof) considering the clown-shoes weather we have here in Chicagoland?

It's a combination of 2 products that I use. Because the roof was structurally sound, it was purely to complete the design. We have done this on 5 different projects. It's cost efficient, actually strengthens any cracks, and with the proper coatings it can last between6-10 years.

And no we used 2 different other products for the shingles. The silicate stain is for the brick & mortar.

This is awesome, thank you! I'm happy to know there are some options out there. I'm over this standard boring look. BORING. The roof is relatively new (previous owners), but it's brown. I can't work with that. If I keep the roof color, could you do a lighter brick color (I didn't see too much on your web page)? Or alternatively, keep the brick color and darken the roof? I don't even know if that would look good. Perhaps we'll give you a call this spring once we get those bushes under the picture window pulled out. Thanks again!
