Without seeing your space and your furnishings, it is impossible to make a choice for you. All are very busy, except for the last one. We need to know what size they are too. Have you asked the store if you could take them out on trial. Then post pics of the room with them propped in place, so we can help. Just comment and attach images to this thread and don't start a new one.

Ok, these are all lovely - I'd need to see a photo of the wall you want to put this on. Plus you've chosen three portrait and one landscape shape - its important to know what is going to be more impactful - and which one makes you happier. and ties into other things going on in the room better.

The blue ones are not busy - just a different mood / feeling - whereas the red one feels more traditional - it has to feel right in your space - can you take them all home and try them out? I'd definitely do that if you can.

I think I prefer one of the last two - trees and poppies. Take those two home to try.

Hate to say I agree with the other two designers. I am not picking for me. Need to see the room and wall where you are putting the painting to see what would show the best. We could all help you more if you upload a photo of the room. It then will give us an idea.

I like the second one. The first looks more Asian themed, the third a little hotel decor, and the fourth I personally don't care for but obviously that's subjective.

I think that the poppy painting would be the best, since you have mainly earth/ warm tones in your room.

Go with the one that is vertical. It'll fit the space better.

I also like the last two the best in your room. The other ones don't have enough color. The last ( poppies) has a lot of color and will really make a statement & the 2nd to last ( the trees) is softer and sends more of a relaxing mood than the poppies. Now it is up to you to decide what kind of atmosphere you want to project in the room.

I will also change the pillows after I pick the paint.

I like the poppies. It picks up some of the colors on your existing pillows. And, it just seems "happier".

I would definitely go with the trees. First the color scheme is perfect. Second, considering you have two big vertical windows this will give sense of balance to the space.

I wouldn't choose any of them. They all look like mass market decorative art to me. I think you could do better at etsy.com or here, a painter named Gerry Dudgeon at saatchi gallery.

Omela, you need two pieces then, both the same shape. They need the width in order to work in both spaces. Find two pieces you LOVE, and we will give you some ideas how to create the balance of colour needed in cushions and such. Are you having fun yet? Hope so!

I agree, lionnessone, that art is a matter of personal preference. But when a piece looks like a thousand other pieces, it ceases to be art and becomes decoration. If that's all you want, buy a yard of fabric and hang it on the wall. It becomes art when it has depth and nuance, when you can see something new each time you look at it, when it evokes an emotion, when you feel the painter has revealed something of himself to you. Perhaps you see that in the above photos. I don't.

The first two look better to me..I think the shapes and colors look better with the room, not just the sofa. They all prob. could work...I am stating what I like best, not what should be chosen...good luck.

Love the poppies because of the colors and the horizontal rectangle fits the space better. \I think the veritcal artwork would look odd. Btw, can you take them home to try them? Sometimes that's the best way to make a decision.
@Omela is saying that she likes all four of the pieces so we are not choosing for her, just helping her narrow her selections with our input.

I personally like the very last painting that you posted with all of the circles. There are so many colors that you could easily change pillows and other decorative items every so often and the painting would still fit in.

Poppies are always nice... But the room might just like the orbs better... a bit lighter and a more fun and unique feel than the heavier poppies... I would take both of those home -

A horizontal picture will fit the space better.

I like the one with the tall trunks (3rd one?). The colours are calm and I think the vertical trunks will compliment your shutters.

Ornela, re. your last comment, breaking the decorating project into steps will help. Making big purchases first (furniture)to form the bones of your room, then rugs and basic lighting(to designate and illuminate), then soft goods and decorative bits and lighting (to punctuate); it will make the process easier: as you are filling in smaller and smaller spaces as you go, they become easier to balance.
That said, presuming you are very clear that these pieces are sized appropriately for the space (we can't tell that from photos, as evidenced by the comments above), and presuming that decor and not art is where you are going with this, then the butterflies would look the most cohesive with your current accent furniture and stylistic bent.(I like the tables, btw.) Most of the other choices appear dirty in palette and slap dash....and that is going easy on them.

Thank you studio 10001 for your advice. Totally makes sense to me. I would like some art work instead of just decor, so i'll look for some abstract paint(nothing from what I posted).

Yay, Ornela! Find a piece that speaks to you. You'll know when it does--it's the piece that brings you back again and again, that you can't pass by without looking at--and then you won't have to ask anybody to help you decide! (And in the meantime, the pieces you have now with your pillows are pleasant enough. No need to be hasty here.)
