I've never quite had any luck planting longans for the past years. A few of them died when I planted them close to two huge oak trees on the south side of my yard. Then I came to know about web worm infestation that will affect lychees and longans as well. Longans are also susceptible to white flies.

Last year, I bought two healthy longans and planted them in the north side with plenty of sunshine. Initially, white flies were trying to attack them, so I sprayed them with Neem oil and Atomic Grows. Recently, I'm making a solution of Epsom salt (1 table spoon per gallon) for a spray as well. I don't know how the Epsom salt will work. In any case, to my surprise, they're doing much better being in the North side and away from those two awful oak trees which are hosts to not only web worms, but also some kind of wasps that lay eggs on oak galls?

Biew Kiew is sending out blooms for me, but I hope the blooms stay ... keeping my fingers crossed. Kohala is sending out a lot of new flushes and hope they'll push out some blooms as well .. we'll see. So far, I've been feeding them with some micros, liquid compost and Epsom salt. I heard they like water, so maybe I'll increase the water to a few times per week? Any advice on the watering?
