I just ordered a sofa in a soft minkish brown color. I think a bluish brown would be great. Do you recall the paint name and manufacturer?

The color I chose was Spring Bluebell by Gliddon. It seems intense when you put it on,( it scared my husband lol) but give it a chance. My sofa was dark so I wanted a more intense wall color. If your sofa is not very dark, maybe a lighter shade would work for you. I would describe the color of my sofa as minkish too--not chocolate brown. My living room is also pretty large. It only took one gallon and one coat to cover, which really surprised me. The paint has primer in it. I got it at Walmart.

If you want to go for a really bright colour - turquoise and shades of aqua are really popular right now. Another option is to go for white - like a Mediterranean interior - and add colour with different home accessories.

Wi a minkish brown sofa, if you're going wi blue, I'd move more toward turquoise/aqua. That kind of blue wi brown is really popular now. Find a piece of clothing or material with those two colors that catches your eye and go for it!

But gray wi a little blue in it is gorgeous, too!
