Does anyone have Kenmore Pro refrigirator?

I had kenmore elite refrigerator and had no problem with it. Now, I am remodeling kitchen and do not want to spend $10.000 on the fridge.

I like the look of kenmore pro but can't find any reviews on it.

Kenmore Elite and Kenmore Pro are marketing terms. The various models under that label may be sourced from different manufacturers (Kenmore/Sears doesn't manufacture anything directly). You need the specific model number for valid reviews and information on specific units.

ok. Here are the models #. I think kenmore pro is made by Electrolux, and Kenmore Elite by LG.

Kenmore Pro 79983 29.8 cu. ft.

    Kenmore Elite 74023 29.8 cu.ft

Easy way to tell is the Mullion flap or lack thereof. That's the flap that flips open and closed on one door to seal. LG built Kenmores don't have it, the Electrolux built ones do.

Also icemaker is a dead give away. Both of the models you are looking at are LG built. One drawback to the in door ice is that it doesn't make a lot of ice. If you entertain it won't last very long.

Do you know if there is a difference between Pro and Elite? As far as I can tell the only difference I see is exterior look.

Actually, just to say, those are not the full model numbers. Full Kenmore model numbers are in format of xxx.xxxxxxxx (three leading digits, a period, followed by more digits). The numbers you reference are either catalog numbers or stock numbers, possibly from Sears.com web site. They don't cite full model numbers there. The full correct number is typically only found on the tag on the appliance ... although user guides may reference enough of the number to get a better handle on it.

I found 79983 at Sears.com. The linked user guide references 795.7998*
Searching SearsPartsDirect.com (for appliance parts) finds 795.79983510

74023 traces to 795.7402* which brings up 10 matches for parts (different ending numbers for colors and revisions).

    795. indicates LG as the source manufacturer for both.

There are reviews on Sears.com. Eighty for 74023 but unfortunately none for 79983. Reviews at other sources can possibly be found by Googling the stock numbers 79983 and 74023 or the longer model numbers.

Dadoes, I never knew that the extension indicates manufacturer. That's actually really useful. Any chance you have that info available to the non Kenmore selling public to save me the time of researching these things?

And it appears these are the same approximately with different exteriors. I didn't see any differences of consequence between them. It's safe to assume the reviews for one apoly to the other.

795.72053 elite french door-bottom freezer. (LG) 4 years old. Excellent temp control in both refrigerator and freezer. We have excellent tasting water in our local. We fool the filters or bypass changing due to cost. It will give a warning 4 times a year. The plastic containers on the side have duct tape on them due to cracks within one year. Understand this is an issue with all brands. $40 each to replace. Stainless does not clean well and is not smudge proof. I was considering replacing it and found options for side by side in the $900-1200 range. The basement refrigerator is a GE side by side dent mess and works as well! I spent too much on this refrigerator for the return.

Did you end up getting the Kenmore Pro Refrigerator? Im looking at it too.

Yes, I did. I have been using it for 6 month now. It works fine so far and I really like the way it looks. I had Kenmore Elite before for many years, and never had any problems. Hoping it will be the same for Kenmore Pro.

We are thinking about the Kenmore Pro counter depth and were hoping to get your latest thoughts on your refrigerator.

We are concerned about the ice maker capacity. Does the ultra ice mode really make a difference?

    Thanks in advance!

STAY AWAY! We purchased a Kenmore Pro (LG) 3 door. We had no idea it was made by LG at time of purchase. No one will touch it because it is LG the service repair said the parts are under warranty but labor is not covered and no one wants to come put the delivered (under warranty) parts in the refrigerator. Everyone said that it is to labor intensive. We paid almost four thousand dollars for this to happen in 5 years. DO NOT BUY KENMOR appliances. Now going to get registered in the CLASS ACTION Lawsuit against LG
