Hi Dave. Your choices are gorgeous. Since both are very textural, I'm going to recommend not only a uniform backsplash, but also painting in the same color, so that the eyes can focus on the floor and stone. I think I'd go for one of the lighter grey tones in the stone in a glass tile and wall paint. Let me see if I can find an example anywhere...

If you can't delay i'd pull the copper color and do a tile in that. It would tie it together without adding any more pattern which you don't need with that gorgeous counter. Plus I think it'd pick up on the flooring somewhat.

I agree about waiting if you can. Since you love the countertop, consider a simple backsplash so it does not visually compete with the beautiful stone. A glass subway tile sounds like a good place to start.

Wait for the granite to be installed. I have seen many backsplash mistakes made on Design Dilemma. One that I see often is made when the homeowner decided to accent a minority color in the backsplash. I would not use the copper color. The granite is mostly gray shades. I think white or gray are the best options.

You've chosen the star of the show, and it is the granite. Wait on the splash until after installation, and you will see the simple and best answer is light......and plain.
