Well Pump Wiring

We are installing a 240 volt pump in a well. The well is 450' from the house. Directly in between the well and the house but near (100') from the well is the single phase power pole with meter and panel. The pressure switch lives in the house at the pressure tank for frost protection. I am trying to figure out the most efficient/best/cost effective wiring configuration. With power close to the pump I am wondering if I could take it straight to the pump from the pole and have the switched circuit simply come from the house panel, through the switch, to the pole.
