Need help finding a ceiling/lightly fan!

We're getting our ceiling done and while the painter is up there I want him to put a nice fixture up! The problem is that my husband wants a fan but I want something pretty . Not just a normal fan! Any ideas/ pics you can show me?! I'm trying to stay on the Glammy side but not to showey! We have vaulted ceilings. Any ideas would be great!!! Thanks guys! Ps this room is in work an progress little at a time! Lol!

My ceilings are 18', and my current fan is too high. I plan on putting the new fan up(60"), about 11' from the floor, so of course I will buy an extended rod. I also abhor light kits in fans.

You haven't shown enough of the room to really understand how it feels and how large the space is.......From what I can see, you probably want a larger fan that hangs down a little lower then the current one.

I would recommend a light / fan combo that is more contemporary, cleaner and simpler looking then the one you have now......and in white.

There are great options available on Amazon.com or Overstock.com

You can also look up a company called "Big Ass Fans". They have some really nice fans available too.

I gathered up some examples of ceiling fans with light kits that might pique your interest. When you install a new fan, make sure to install it so the fan hangs lower than the one you currently have--that one is up too high with your vaulted ceiling and therefore you probably don't feel as much of the cool breeze as you should! This can be done by using extra downrods.

Now, on to the suggestions!

We do have more ceiling fans too.

I am purchasing the Minka Aire Kola-XL in the next few months, in pewter. It comes in 52" and 60", and you can get a light kit.

Thanks guys!!! Question how do I know how low to hang fan?

I would skip the light and do just the fan. I think that the light will not be flattering to people or furnishings.

The height can be anywhere from 8' to approx 10' depending on how high your volume is ... It's difficult to tell from your photo since it doesn't show enough of the room

I love these propeller styled fans - much more stylish than run of the mill.

Do you even feel the effects of a fan that high? I would skip the fan if you are going for a glam look.

Have you decided yet? Maybe convinced your husband to forgo the fan? If he must have one,I would show him the three blade sleeker models, otherwise you will have the same dated type that is already there.

Ok guys painter came and took down fan and threw it away! Lol! Now I need ASAP!!! We are so not agreeing on one yet! He wants a pretty one and I def one one a little more fancier! With some bling on it. Some I seen had no blades I thought that was nice bc it's more of a light fixture then a fan but still has a fan built in. I just wonder if it does a good job as a regular fan would do?! I will keep you posted!!!
