Kitchen lighting

I had reached out to this forum earlier regarding paint colors, thank you all for your suggestions. I will be painting this room beige color, valance will go, will have bar stools. Prior to painting, I am getting lights done.
3 recess lights on top of long counter, and one on top of stove. I am looking for kitchen island lighting and a pendant chandelier on breakfast table. I am totally list, not quite sure if I should get one light with 3 lights, or individual pendants as shown in the pictures. Room size is 15*13. I don't want to make room look small. Please suggest, not sure where to start.

Recessed ceiling lights provide general room illumination, you will need more than three. Don't install them directly over the upper cabinets, proper spacing is important. You will also need undercabinet lighting to illuminate your countertops. I prefer strip rather than puck...the strip gives even light, the pucks throw spots of light.

Your island looks quite petite, 3 individual lights would dwarf it. If you match the current proportions, that would look best. Either one light that has some width to it, or two small pendants at the most is what I would do.

what are the dimensions of your island? From my research to add a pendant you need 30 inches between the two and about a foot from the edge of the island.

ok - I would go for 2 of the more narrow pendants you posted. I think it says they're 5 inches wide. So 2 of those + 2 feet for sides only leaves you about 2 feet. I think visually that could work. I think if you did 1 pendant it would look wrong - even if it was quite sizeable.
