Looking at the video in full screen mode, you can see when it slows down it hits that pitch where it resonates. You kind of see more movement on the right hand side (as you look at the video).

So it seems that something on the right hand side needs to be tightened.

Looking at this video (I don't know if yours is installed with the same kit), it doesn't look like the front attaches securely (the front bottom of the kit uses tape).

If you can't screw or tighten the movement maybe you can wedge (like a shiv) something in between so there is less movement and omitting the rattle.

Thanks - yes it is definitely coming from the right side. My stacking kit looks very different from that one pictures. It has longer metal bars alone the sides, here is an image of the part and the link to the stacking kit. I can't see anything I can adjust from the outside...

Did you ever get this fixed? We have the same noise from an LG stacked washer/dryer. It seems like the dryer is not being held tight enough.

Help we have this same issue. If I push down on the dryer it stops clearly the dryer not being held tightly enough in there. The previous stacking unit we had was just on top of each other with a foam type pad in between. Never a problem.

I also am having this issue with my washer dryer, it's sounds exactly the same, I'm really trying to find a solution. I've tried contacting LG (waste of time) and after contacting J.C penny where I purchased and had the unit installed they basically told me their not responsible for the installation mis-handlings. Desperately need a "Do it yourself" remedy. I have the same stacking kit as the tmnca has. PLEASE HELP!! SOMEONE!

Ok guys so I'm writing back again, I think I may have found at least a somewhat applicable solution, try using a clear plastic package tape along the side of the dryer thats making the noise, try to push on the front of the dryer as you strap the tape to the front of the unit. Seems to have reduced some of the noise.

I just had an LG technician diagnose my noise problem. It seems the dryer's front cover is loose and causing metal on metal banging at certain washer drum speeds. We opted to replace the dryer under the terms of sale at Lowe's.

Pklein241, did the tech say if there was anything that could be done? I self-diagnosed this same issue, and am trying to figure out if there's a way to fix it or not.

We have been having the same issue and, like pklein241, our technician said the dryer cover was loose and causing the metal on metal banging. They replaced our dryer and it was better for a little while, but now is making the same noise. Am thinking the vibrations from the washer loosen it over time. The place where we bought the set (ABT) is offering to replace with an entirely different set - they said this happens with LG models because they have "feet" on bottom so don't sit flush on stacking unit. Can't decide whether to replace entirely with different brand or try the packing tape approach.

I have been experiencing this exact issue lately. I purchased my units around April/May 2017 and it has started making the noise recently. Today I contacted LG for service. Someone is supposed to come look at the units, hopefully in the next few days. I'll update again with what they say.

LG did end up coming out and reinstalling the bracket - fixed the problem!

LG sent a repair guy and he knew immediately what the issue was. The front panel on the dryer comes a little loose over time from being knocked around by the washer. It was a quick fix - less than a minute, he just took a tool to re-tighten the clips holding on the front dryer panel. He didn't have to take anything apart, I have not yet ran a load of laundry, but he did do a test while he was there and the issue seemed fixed! He said for some reason, this issue is extremely common with LG! As a bonus, this was covered under warranty!

same problem here. @lindze927 do you know where on the front panel were these clips? at the bottom or at the top? i'm unfortunately out of warranty and now try to figure out how to fix this diy style :/

It's at the bottom of the dryer. The guy said they had to buy a tool specifically for the issue because otherwise you'd have to take the dryer off to get at the clips. The tool looked almost like a very small, flat, crow bar. Its unclear if the tool is specifically made for this situation or if they just found something that fit well into the space. Hope that helps!

I think LG must be aware of the problem now and should send someone out to fix!

This is a super common problem indeed. If its driving you nuts try gently pushing the dryer back and forth to imitate the vibration of the washer and find which side the ticking noise is comming from. Find a paper book that just wedges between the 2 for a nice tight fit. Works in a pinch

We purchased LG washer n dryer a few months ago from Lowes. Also bought the stack kit! Same dam noise and got worse and worse in a few weeks! It became so bad that it even made the noise when walking by the machines! I tried to level the machines while the noise was happening.. that didn't work! I put a few micro fiber towels as shims. helped a bit but now great! Finally read this article here.. I did narrow the noise down, It was definitely the Dryer front cover! Called LG they came in 24 hours , the repair man said this was the 2nd one he had like this.. He took off the stack bracket , moved the dryer forward to hang over the washer. There are 2 brackets holding the front dryer cover on, he removed the brackets and bent them forward to make them tighter once installed back. I asked him to also wrap the brackets with electrical tape so they weren't metal on metal to the dryer cover. Well after that when the washer spins you don't here anything! TOTALLY QUIET! Just wanted to share my experience .. if you are out of warranty this is an EASY fix!

Thanks MarcS! I followed your steps and it totally fixed the problem. After I removed the front bracket and gently slid the dryer off the front edge, I was able to remove the two foot/panel brackets removing three screws and the plastic feet. Bent the brackets in a vice to pinch them tighter and reinstalled. Will see how long this lasts but finally a quiet washer/dryer combo!

I wish I could. The technician took the top panel off the dryer and bent one of its mounting brackets so that the panel itself is a bit farther away from the left side of the dryer—he reattached the top panel and I only saw his photo on his phone.

I had a technician come in who said he couldn't fix it because the problem was the stacking kit. However, whatever he did made the problem worse. I went from hearing the occasional ticking to now hearing loud squeaking EVERY load. I live in a small town so there aren't any other appliance repair companies that I could call.

I am having the same problem with my brand new WM4370 and DLGX4371 set. I have had the installers come out three times and tighten the dryer legs. Best Buy says they have never heard about this problem; however, I went to three Best Buy stores and all three store floor models shake. I think there may be something wrong with my washing machine drum also so I'm getting the whole set replaced. The other three models of LG units seemed to be on more secure in the store so I may try a different model. I contacted LG customers service and it was awful.

I had 6 service calls about a loud banging and no one could fix it until the final guy who did the repair I described above. One thing that helps the ticking is to put plastic shims in between the units and that helps a lot. Nothing helped the banging except as described above.

Can you post a picture of the plastic shims? I’m leaning towards removing the stacking kit and just building a shelf for the dryer over the wasHer.

Mine was due to a design defect. Plastic connection for moisture sensor inside the unit sits on the bottom pan and rattles. Located on the front right of the machine. Makes sense that was the cause, since rattle starts 5 minutes into the cycle and only when using heat. The heat relaxes the wires' insulation and allows for movement. Should be suspended in air like the rest of the connections. Tried to post a picture, but will not upload on the website.

Hi All. I recently fixed the problem of a loud banging on my stacked washer/dryer LG. The vibration from the washer was of course the route cause, along with a floor that was not stable enough to prevent the vibration from increasing. However, I found the source of the banging was a cracked mount for an electrical board in the dryer. I removed the top of the dryer - simple to do with screws in the upper back portion of the shell. On the left hand side (while facing from the front) there is a plastic mount to the side of the dryer that holds an electrical board. The mount is only attached at the top. Overtime, the plastic mount cracked enough to allow the board and mount to slam up against of the side wall of the dryer. I secured the mount with some tape to reduce the motion that it could make and the problem went away.

Very same issue lisaz60614 had above, however I used a strong tape to pull the board back away from the dryer sidewall. The tape is secured to the top outside side panel however and is visible.

Hey guys, had the same issue with the UNBEARABLE SQUEAK.. when the washing machine started it final spin cycle. Here is all I found too get rid of the noise.

Had to remove the dryer from the bracket and place on the floor, then i applied pressure on the front right corner of the washing machines top cover and found the squeak was comming from the top cover NOT THE BRACKET.

Removed the lid of washing machine, 2 screws on back Of machine, ( how to vid on youtube) pull back and remove the cover.

Here’s the kicker! Ready for it!?

All I had to do was put the the cover back on, and pushed on the front right corner and the squeak was gone!! I believe after time it must have shifted the top cover to a point where it was no long sitting square.

Its been a month and no more squeaking. Peace at last.
