So true Brandi. This might be the third round for me. My grandmother who lived to be 101 used to have house dresses that looked like this when I was a kid. Then in the 80's my MIL had floral furniture and wallpaper. I will always associate this look with being old :-)

Chintz. Haven't heard that word since my old sewing days (in the 80's). Visited Andrew Jackson's home many years ago and if I recall correctly some of the wallpapers resembled this, so the look has been around for a long time and apparently just won't go away! I prefer flowers in the garden or in a vase.

i've been looking for a posh frock for me for a wedding that my daughter (28) is maid of honor in... so i thought i'd run it by her. i had a tea length black background floral dress, and a navy and white print knee length to show her. she had an extraordinarily strong negative reaction on the floral...so i'm thinking her generation might not be ready yet.

but i reminded her that the next generation will mock her choices.

I happen to love florals and I have a ton of floral cotton fabric stored in large containers for when I need them. For me, florals never do go out of style!

Speaking of things coming back in style--When did claw foot tubs come back in style? I thought I would never have to see another claw foot tub in my lifetime. We had one in an old apartment building when I was a toddler until we moved to the suburbs when I was 7!

old stuff like tubs come back when buyers didnt have to have an old grotty one when they were a kid.

I really do not believe there is a H311! It is all accomplished right here. all the things we were sure of as kids, comes back to haunt us as adults and our children make sure we know just how wrong we were! lol

Not for my house, too feminine...maybe in a summer country house...

when you use a computer summery, it gives a little click spot underneath that says more info. clicking on that, it said House of hackney. $5000+. not for me my friend. lol

I did have a lovely chintz dress in the 80s, lovely mounding bouquets in all the right spots!
