HI -- No to other colors -- your house is what is happening with exteriors now . I would leave the house the way it is ,it is right on the money ! I think if you added the same kind trees flanking the drive way and some flowering bushes etc. This will frame the house . This is such a beautiful place .

Thanks for of the responses. I feel like my gut is telling me to stick with white as well. Do you think that adding some shutters could give the splash of color that my wife is looking for or might that just clutter up the clean look?

You have some windows that are appropriate for shutters and others that aren't. I think you're fine without them but just feel some contrast between the window trim and siding might be nice, such as in the pic I posted with the light gray home.

Your house has such a Victorian feel to it. I googled "white Victorian" and none had shutters. Here is one from the 19th century.

We are so used to multiple colors and materials on houses, having all one color and material makes it feel like the house is missing it's eyelashes and eyebrows. But when you search farmhouse exteriors, many are solid white. Some of them do have black trim around the windows. As suggested before, you may just need a few trees to break up the solid white (and provide the eyelashes and eyebrows :) ).

If i added any shutters, I think it would be the black ones on this window only...possibly a crown above, but not sure...

HI -- Shutters ..maybe but not the arch .

We're going to use the color scheme from the Seattle Aquarium. They were nice enough to give us samples of the colors. The sides are actually a deep evergreen, but depending on the light can look almost teal. The "lime green" color is actually beige with green undertones. We'll most likely just stay with the evergreen for the siding and the soft white for the trim. The grey in the lettering will be picked up by our driveway and edging and the lime by the foliage of several plants.

Your house is beautiful. I agree with previous posters-plant more trees along the drive and a bigger one in front of the garage. Consider a dutch elm disease resistant elm (depending on your location) as big as you can get. I planted one 2 years ago and it grows like a weed! Beautiful and native in my neck of the woods.

I disagree on the white house white trim color scheme. I would paint the window trim and fascia in light gray. I feel like the detail is not being emphasized enough, especially the cute gothic window.
