Tide Mountain Spring Liquid

So, I couldn't stand not taking a whiff of this in the store. I opened the lid and took a big sniff, and it's the old original. (Pre HE Turbo). Since the Duet is an HE machine, I was skeptical. But I purchased it anyways. So far I have ran two loads. The first load of towels was half way up to line 1. No suds at all using whitest whites with hot water. The second load was socks and underwear in the normal cycle with hot water and it was the same exact way. Very little suds. Rinsing is fine as well. I'm very happy.

I can't remember the last time I smelled Tide liquid Mountain scent, but I'm staying away from it, this powder girl has already accumulated too many liquids.

@ MamaP....I think if you huffed Mountain Spring Tide liquid, you'd be buying it, and smuggling it to the car, in your big purse!!! LOL Or telling the hubs it is a newly recommended detergent to soak his feet in!! :) ha ha ha

Mtn. Spring liquid smells AMAZING. But, it is only for top loaders. FL's must dose VERY carefully!!

Exactly why I'm not huffing it Larsi, I prefer powder but have been having some fun with liquids for awhile now. This means I've accumulated a lot that won't keep like powders do. I'm not huffing right now...I'm not...I'm not.

Does the powder smell different than the liquid? I have finished the liquids in my house, and I really don't want another.

I tested out the Mountain Spring Tide liquid over the weekend in my TL he machine and had ZERO issues with suds! The wash and rinse looked just like I was using a Tide he Turbo formula. Really happy as I love the Mountain Spring scent! Are all Tide liquids actually he safe now, regardless of being labeled as such?

Tide Simply is not safe. It's suds like hell in hot water. It is worth a try in a small bottle and smaller dosages, but I wouldn't risk it all the time.

Sorry, I should have clarified. I was speaking of real Tide in the orange bottles, not that designer knock-off yellow bottled Tide Simply! ;-)

Jase you did clarify you said Mountain Spring Tide which is a completely different animal from Tide Simply...lol

But I think Dorey was only making a comment that some of the Tides may be low sudsing but Tide simply sure isn't lol

Sorry I should have clarified. Tide Simply shouldn't be used with low sudsing and easy rinsing in mind. However, a non HE Tide detergent in a low dose might be ok but we have no way of telling until we get risky! If you find some cheap non HE Tide on sale go for it but start in low dosages.

I brought a box of the Tide Mountain Spring Powder home this week too! Anxious to test it out over the weekend. What are you using it on Mama?

Oh it's one of my favorites. Did a load of medium colors today in warm and just had to use it.

Jase I use it on just about everything except whites and darks. It does a fab job on kids clothing but than again Tide powders have always done well for me. I have always loved the brisk, herbal, bracing scent of Mountain Spring. I also love how Tide powders could be over dosed now days and still not suds. I found this to be true of the Gain with Oxi also...almost suds free and the scent of Gain with Oxi takes me back its an old scent I suspect its the old great Oxydol.

Mamapinky: It's all I can do to stop myself from jumping in the car right now and buying a bottle of Gain with Oxy just for that scent! I got the laundry bug. Bad.

Elizabeth its the powder... blue box *Icy Fresh Fizz* not the liquid. Nothing wrong with having the laundry bug...lol the folks here sure do understand. By the way do you still use your stuff...you know the stuff you ordered? Lol the folks here also understand that as many here use it.

Go buy your Gain with Oxi Icy Fresh Fizz. .its in a blue box but not easy to find...since it has oxygen bleach in it save it for whites and lights.

I might be shopping tomorrow.....yes my other product works brilliantly! DH has had no rash problems since. He was bothered more and more by the sensitivity as he got older. You would never guess it if you met him. He is tall, tanned and outdoorsy. I didn't DARE tell him I added something new to the wash water at first. He finally asked what I was doing differently. I gave you the well deserved credit. :-)

Lol...I'm really glad it works well for you. I use it on my kids bedding in the first rinse so I'm assured all residues are stripped out. My 9yo can not stand any scent on his bedding not even a tiny hint of scent so this really helps. I suppose I could use unscented detergent and an unscented booster pod for whitening, but I'd still like knowing their little faces arnt against residue. Stick around Elizabeth laundry can be great fun and huge challenges at times. Haha

Hopefully oyhers here are reading this and give you a warm welcome. There's a lot of very fine and knowledgeable folks here.

Everyone please meet Elizabeth. I met her at the KT and have lots of respect for her.

Welcome Elizabeth. I have learned a lot here. And think the nicest people are on the Laundry Forum.

Thank you for the lovely welcome!

Welcome to the Laundry Room Elizabeth. Lots of great people with tons of knowledge.

Mama, what you said about Tide powers, I wish it were true for me. Before they were reformulated to HEC, they were great. But now, not so, at least for me. They added SLS and it's pretty high up in the ingr. list. Dummy me washed a queen sized quilt with Tide F/G powder with the suggested dosage. line 3. Looked like a snowfall in the SQ. LOL. The suds didn't collapse with a long soak. Three rinses with a hefty dose of FS and vinegar before it was anywhere near acceptable.

    Have since measured their dosages.

Line 1 med. Load-4TBLS,Line 2- 5TBLS.Line 3 large loads,6TBLS (I used that one), Line 4-7Tbls, and Line 5- is 10TBLs.= 3/4C.for HE full loads. Line 5 would be a nightmare in any machine!! Can just see suds spilling out and running out the door.LOL

How much do you use in your Duet?

Welcome Elizabeth. Our Laundry Room is amazing, with the best people!!

I agree totally with Beaglenc!! Since Tide changed to "for both" he and top load in the same box....I can severely under dose their powders (not good for cleaning), yet it will just not rinse. The wash is sudsy, but the rinseS are awful. I can do 6, 7, 10 rinses....this darn stuff will not rinse away...just keeps foaming.

BUT...Original Scent Tide he turbo liquid is the lowest sudsing and easiest rinsing Tide product I have EVER used!! :)

Welcome, Elizabeth. We're always happy to have new laundry friends.

It is very nice to be here. I spend time over at the KT but there has been some "unpleasantness" over there. ( More like brawls ) I am enjoying hanging out with the lovely MamaP and y'all.

Elizabeth, your a sweetheart. Brawls...lol..more like all out wars haha. But you always avoid getting involved....your a great lady.
