I inherited an old house with major basement water issues. We recently had a second child and need to turn laundry room into nursery so I decided to fix the basement. I excavated around the foundation that isn't crawl space, tore out 2 walls, and had them re build with 8 inch block. I then sealed them with a rubber membrane, added a French drain on outside of footings out to a 15 foot pit full of rock. I then installed 2 sump pumps so any water that gets under the footings will be pumped out into the pit. I also sealed walls with Dri-Loc after filling all cracks and where the walls meet the floor with hydraulic cement. Additionally, I wrapped all cold water lines with insulation and Dri-Locked the floors.

This weekend we had our first thaw where a few inches of snow melted and we got a half inch of rain and my basement is flooded again. We have a really bad water table and I guess we are still getting enough water pressure under the floor that it is finding other ways in where there is crawl space that isn't even on an exterior wall.

I am so frustrated, but I have spent close to $8,000 already so I do not want to give up. I have to get this water problem solved soon so I can begin the actual remodel before my son needs a bed room :)

Any ideas on what else I should do?
