I would suggest that you mark stone off your list. it would not work with tour brick and I think the stone would make it look too heavy. thus, this leaves you with siding unless you want to consider another type of siding.

what is the height of tour interior entry way? would a taller door be feasible?

Stone and brick do not mix well together and would be way too busy for your house. Stucco is a great material. The double door will look very good, or another option is a large central door with a sidelight on each side.

Make the stucco as smooth as possible. A smooth trowel finish would look best. You might try a red color stucco similar to the color of your siding right now. You also could try a taupe or warm grey in a dark shade.

Front door area needs something too.

Make the front door taller and double width, glass, modern style. Consult to find out how to make the glass secure. Steel frame would help.

Replace all the siding, including at the entry wall with a horizontal warm wood colored siding, like IPE or African mahogany. Front door has got to go. Change to a same size one light French door (black) with frosted or white laminated glass, this would look amazing floating in the wood siding.

is the roof red? if it is, then you may want to change it before you leap on to these great suggestions.

Great little diamond in the semi rough MCM. Def replace door with correct style. And go with cedar siding (if Ipe or Mahogany are a little rich for your blood and the neighborhood). A transparent oil stain in a deep mahogany would look great with your brick. Don't paint the brick like the example but I like the window treatment in the entry... Would look great reinterpreted for your place and at a reasonable cost.

If the siding is old, damaged, etc., consider James Hardie cement siding to replace it and you'll never have to mess with it again. Can be ordered pre-painted or you can paint it yourself.

if the siding is too old to salvage I would go hardi (make sure they don't caulk the joints) and find a colour that complements with brick without cause too much contrast. I would keep the house quiet with all the punch going to the front door. Boy oh boy you could have fun with that front door... I'd door a huge pivot door and a cool lighting system. Make the rest of the house and non - issue. Oh and paint out the garage door to match the new siding. They are not beautiful and unless they are a really cool overhead they should not be an accent.

Is it just me or is anyone else bugged that the garage is off centered! I would have to address that ! Larger door, centered with Windows above.

This house suits the assymetry! But I forgot to mention the all important decorative grasses planted up one side of your walkway. And a sculptural mini Japanese Maple in a large planter on the front porch.

Rusty, I use Photoshop Elements. But take a look at a free download called Gimp. I've seen some awesome renderings done with it.

I grew up in a couple of mid-century homes with brick designed by my dad. He always incorporated vertical, rough cedar, board & batten-stained with solid color stain. Very pretty. Wish I had a picture to post.

Your house reminds me of a house dilemma that came through recently. Here's a before and after rendering from that dilemma posted by a houzzer:

Unfortunately, the expanded windows over the door couldn't work as the ceiling comes down just over the door (the attic is just above). We might be able to fit a small horizontal window above the door., but that would be it.

Our budget is in the $20k range, so we would probably need to maintain the color of our windows, don't think we would want to change them.

If a pro would be available to continue helping us mock up possible solutions please let me know.

Perhaps a simple paint upgrade and a new garage door will do the trick!

For the space over the door, you can create the illusion of windows by installing trim as shown above, and painting what would be glass a dark color.

Here's the budget solution that will make the biggest difference in curb appeal. Paint the siding a contrasting color. I like something like the green below. Expand the walkway to the full width of the steps. Add a large modern pendant light. Replace the door. If you can see your way to a real double door, that would be best, but even this one from Home Depot would be a huge step up.

Call me crazy but when you said new stucco or stone siding I was thinking you were cladding the existing everyone has it brick with a great stone......

But this painted darker brick and lighter siding would really look fabulous. If you just painted then you could rip out the ceiling above the entry and open up a small part of the attic and add the cool windows. Would really add spaciousness inside and outside! I would certainly consider and price it out.
