Your house looks nice. I would not change the facing of the house, you would spend a lot of money for little gain. Paint it and if you have attic space above the two windows and the garage I would add those decorative vent covers and then you could put install a couple of attic fans that would save you money. One other thing you could do is add a wood gate/privacy fence in front of the entry, if possible.

If you keep the board and batten siding paint it a darker color to give the house more contrast.
