I take it you are removing the bamboo? The entire house is getting the engineered hardwood? Including the Kitchen? Or is it a straight swap "Acacia for Bamboo"?

The undertones are a personal thing. Right now the "cool brown" tones are in. The "reds" are out...and so too the "orange" tones. Which means that, fashion/trend wise both of your floors are on the verge of being "unfashionable".

Personally I believe you should go with your heart. There are many of us who prefer the reds of mahogany. I'm someone who has grown up with mahogany (thank you Great Britain for your colonial period) so I have a soft spot in my heart for "red".

Your "brown" version has quite a bit of orange in it. It is an orange/brown which would have an easier time making the direct swap between "gold/orange" bamboo to "brown/orange" Acacia. Same undertones for the two floors.

I guess this is personal taste. Are you planning on painting? Right now the brown/gold works better with the light sage paint...but the red works better with the light beige (I'm assuming you have different paints in the home...the photos are showing some distinctly different tones for wall colour).

Go with what makes your heart sing. Not trends. If you are an "orange/brown" person than have fun with the orange/brown. If you are a mahogany red gal (like me) then go with the red.

These colours are so close to one another that it is going to come down to personal wish...not trend.

I would suggest not to go with the red undertone. The key will be to match the right shade of 'brown' to the key colors that make up the majority of your soft furnishings. The 'brownish' shade will go better with the creams, gold, and peachy tones. Also, if you are a person who likes to redecorate your home often, this shade will adapt with you and is unproblematic solution that will also allow you to experiment.
