Leaf damage: From what?

These are my probably-over-nitrogen'ed tomatoes. This afternoon, I noticed thin spots and holes in some leaves. A nearby sage recently had this problem, but I don't see insects on either. Any thoughts? Effect of too much N? I've been soaking them through to wash that out when I water, btw. Thanks, all.

I don't think that is insect damage. Is it possible that some liquid fertilizer dropped onto the leaves?

Just looks like random environmental (wind, rain, squirrels, sun, birds, people walking by, etc.) damage to me. Leaves get spots and branches break off for all sorts of reasons and 9x out of 10 it isn't any issue to be concerned about.

NC--No, as I didn't use any liquid fertilizer, and the small leaf in the bottom picture is new growth since I last watered at all.

Dave--I hope so. For being on a balcony at least 50 feet away from any other foliage except my downstairs neighbor's ficus, my garden gets a lot of pests.
