Just finished a Reno. Tiled only the shower area and it looks great. Resisted pressure from tile store to add a strip of accent tiles, also a good decision. You might think twice about the glass tiles. Be sure that you are getting lots of bang for the extra $$$, not to mention the trickier installation. After a lot of soul searching, I went with a plain and inexpensive ceramic subway tile on the walls and pricier small square tiles on the shower floor. Turned out to be a good decision. Those choices make a crisp, clean background,. You only need a couple of "stars" in the design, in your case the great vanity and lights. And, yes, do go with chrome the knobs. Make the light fixture slightly narrower than the mirror.

I don't have first hand experience with glass tile, but Houzz is full of long discussions of the difficulties. Glass is green, so I understand you never get a true White after its installed. I like your light fixture a lot. It has an industrial vibe I like. However your girl friend might prefer something with the light pointing up rather than down, it's a gentler light for make-up, etc.. Probably you will be happiest with a two-light fixture for your size space. Look for a big chunky knob for the vanity. If you have a Fergusons in your area, they have a great selection of options you won't see at the local big box. Ditto light fixtures. Any such store will have tons of catalogs, too. After logging a lot of time online to confirm my style preferences, I made a free appointment with a consultant. It was helpful. Don't forget that great towels, a piece of art, etc. add a lot of look. I'll post a few pix of my Reno in a minute. Good luck

Pbar, my taste is a little more traditional than yours and i led with cream rather than white to go with my granite. Notice the size of the lights and the role of accessories against a simple background. I only have one star, the granite.

I'd keep the lighting above the mirror. While putting lights on either side of the mirror us optimum, I don't think you have room. That was the issue I faced in my Reno, too.

I think it looks good. but of course it will cost you. To get the same sort of look, do a wainscot with bead board, or even a board and batten, for quite a bit less than the tile. But the white subway tile itself is pretty inexpensive. You could probably do the tiling yourself to save the fee.

Would anyone be able to help me with the bathroom lights? My apartment is very industrial so this whole modern or clean looking bathroom is tough for me since I am 100% lost in terms of what light would work and wouldn't come across as too traditional. Given the size of the bathroom lights on the side wouldn't work so I'm stuck with a pendant most likely and am aiming for 2 to 3 sconces. if anyone can help me find the winner I would be more than happy to give $60 finders fee as a token of my appreciation.

i actually loved doing the kitchen, but the bathroom is so much harder especially how small the space is. all of the help so far has been super helpful as I'm just laying in bed looking at lights going crazy. Haha

She said the galvanized sconces are under $40 from Lowe's. Meant for exterior.

Visit the Lamps Plus site. They have tons of lights with an industrial vibe. Take a look at the Edison, Menlo Park, and Congress collections to name a few. The barn light somebody else showed is an nice idea, but perhaps that specific one is a little large in scale for your space.

I think that light would work. You could go even more streamlined, if you want.

Hard to tell about the one you posted - this seems smaller/ more trim. Probably no return....
