Backsplash to coorindate with Pompei "Misterio" for kitchen.

last modified: 10 years ago

We are gutting our kitchen and I have everything selected except the backsplash. Has anyone found a backsplash that looks great with "Misterio" the new Pompei Quartz?Other materials are white shaker style cabinetry, LED ceiling cans as well as under cabinet LED light strip, stainless appliances, a white Blanco single bowl sink and "Nutwood" tile planks flooring. The flooring is a medium wood color with gray graining in it. My style is more conservative/simple. Okay, you could say I live in a beige world. I will make a final decision after the counter top is installed so I can see the colors in the true light of the room. I need to get started selecting samples. Thanks everyone!

I have a similar issue. I need a white subway tile that will go with Pental Misterio. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Sorry- it's Jeffrey Court 3x12 ceramic tile and I'm pretty sure it's Mountain Mist. We've been traveling all summer and I've forgotten already! It looks like your countertop is exactly like mine. I don't remember Pompei calling it "Pentax" Misterio. Don't be fooled by the color of the backsplash tile online. You need to see it in real life. It was exactly what I hoped to find. I love it. My wall color is Benjamin Moore OC-24 Winds Breath. The BM OC-23 is a classic gray which is also very nice. Hope this helps. Let me know what you decide to do!

I am painting the upper cabinets BM white dove and the lower BM palladium blue for a cottage look. The Pental Misterio looks like the Misterio in your picture. It is a polished white with grey to brownish veining. Wanted to go with a white subway tile for a classic look but will consider other ideas. Thanks.

    Just a follow up.

We saw a slab of the Pental Misterio, liked and ordered it.

I shopped around for different subway tiles and found Equevo 3 X 6 Blanco Brillo (made in Spain) that goes well with the Misterio and BM dove white. It is the tile to the far left of the Misterio sample. The other whites were too bright or too creamy.

I now must choose non-sanded grout. I have been told that bright white will work well with the subway tile. I'm not sure which brand-- polyblend or tec. Any advice? Thanks.

Good find on the subway tile! Looks great in this picture. We followed advice from the tile guy our contractor used and I think it was Tec grout.

I will be using Pental Misterio too. Two white tiles that go with it are Equipe 2.75 x 8 in Blanco or Walker Zanger 6th Avenue in white. I forget the color name. Comes in all shapes and sizes including a 2 x 6. The Equipe was chosen by a designer here to go with it. The Walker Zanger also comes in a soft light warm grey called Fog I think, and a pretty soft grey with a blue green cast called . French Clay. Both the whites look nice with the creamy IKEA Bodbyn doors as they are a warm white, but not quite as creamy as the doors.

    Hi. That’s ok.

I did the kitchen back in 2016.

Went with the Equipe blanco brillo 3 x 6 subway tile.

Used it again in the downstairs bathroom with delorean grey grout.
