Has it been out in a heavy storm? Possibly a hail storm? That could account for the marks on the leaves.

The globules on the stems could just be sap from some slight damage.

But bottom line is that Virginia Creeper is a tough, almost indestructible native plant and a little cosmetic damage won't faze it for a moment. Nothing to be concerned about.

Thank you for your reply floral_uk! The plant was bought at the garden center a few weeks ago. It's been outside this whole time in wind and light rain but no hail.

Also, I forgot to mention that the globules on the stems were on all of the Virginia Creeper plants at the garden center.
