What color sofa would best compliment my blue wall and peacock art in my living room?the floors are honey colored hard wood that i will most likely accent with a rug once I've chosen the sofa color. HELP!

yes, I was thinking a white or neutral colored sofa might work well. Thanks! I like the eclectic look but i'm not sure that will fly with all parties involved (my husband likes a clean stream lined look) any suggestions?

With a striking painting like that, the furniture should be simply styled and in less eye-grabbing colors to avoid competing with the dominance of the artwork. Your painting has 30+ colors in it. Choose two of the quieter colors for sofa, rug, and in my opinion, also wall. E.g. pale chalky grey for wall, light bluish green sofa with peacock and yellow pillows. Or dark cream sofa with pale bittersweet orange walls.

Beautiful art!!! I would suggest light grey or white for your sofa.

The entire room is a living room directly across from a dining room. Its only divider is two white pillars on either side of the room. Both rooms have 2 nearly floor to ceiling windows. The striking blue wall is the first thing you see when you come up the stairs (its a beautiful 3 story townhome). I have a chalky grey on the opposite wall. I plan to put either one large mirror on the dining room wall to reflect the blue wall or multiple mirrors...

I finally purchased a gray sofa and I love it. Anything goes with it. So I am a true believer in gray.

what color are your walls? If you are accenting your painting only then choose a light color, however, if your walls are already light, like white/cream, then I would go with a darker accent for your furniture! Dark Charcoal Grey or even Black....

I think a neutral grey would be very pretty

Natural linen then add silk pillows in solid colors that compliment your amazing painting.

Grey. I have a light grey couch and I can do or add anything to it!

thinking of a peacocks dark body and knowing nature is always a better designer than humans, has me leaning towards a dark sofa and dark walls. a lighter sofa would distract the eye IMO.

i agree, to do white means more white in the room and grey is safe. Go with a turqoise color

You don't have to necessarily limit yourself to white or cream, depending on the rest of your room. Do you have a photo showing a wider expanse? I think that you could pull rust, tan or ochre from the painting and add brighter cushions with colors drawn from your painting - which I love by the way. It would help to see a broader photo of your room - lighting etc. If it is a heavily used room, then you may want to go something other than white or cream.
