Can I use plastic liner for my pond

Thinking about putting in a pond and starting to look around for liners. They are pricey! Anyway I bought this liner http://www.homedepot.com/p/HDX-20-ft-x-100-ft-Black-6-mil-Plastic-Sheeting-CFHD0620B/204711641 Black plastic 6ml to kill some weeds and have quite a bit left over. Can something like this be used for a pond? Would it hurt fish? What are the cons?

Might work for five minutes to five days, but I wouldn't count on it for that long. It would probably just tear immediately and it would certainly discintigrate with time.

do your self a favor and get a 45 mil epdm pond liner, and put a felt pad on the bottom,that pond liner is too thin,you will have nothing but tbl
