I rarely ever buy fabric except with particular project in mind, so this isn't a problem with me. Oh, except for that one bundle of six coordinated half yard cuts that I've never found a pattern for. See, that's why I don't do it. I did love getting a bunch of fat quarters and half yard cuts from a friend who was moving and de-stashing though. It's so fun to make scrappy quilts with fabric you would never buy yourself, but that looks great in scrappies.

I found a video on YouTube that used scraps as a quilt as you go tote. It was so cute! :) You've got will power not buying fabric. I see so many adorable prints. :)

When I started quilting over 30 years ago, a fabric would catch my eye and I Would buy it for a future unnamed project. Some of those are still in my stash. Now, I rarely buy fabric, using what I have, except on the rare occasion when I need something particular. It is a learning process.

I have no problem cutting into fabric once I actually buy it and bring it home. My issue is that I have a hard time deciding on exactly which fabrics to buy. I'll go into the shop with something specific in mind, but then I'll get "distracted". :-)

The first cut is always the hardest, but once you get started it's cut away!
