I do not do pictures on my computer....but I can tell you it is classic CMV symptoms. Double whiskey might help! haha

Home gardens are seldom, if ever, overwhelmed with that many virused plants in a single season.

Sounds like the great imitator of virus: Herbicide damage, perhaps drift or volatilization of something applied nearby, or herbicide carryover that can occur from composted manures & other organic sources.

If any of those images are similar to what you have, also do a simple, and easy, bio-assay of the organic whatever that you added to the soil and/or used as mulch. The link is at the left on the above page.

Jean, I do appreciate the input and info above. Those pics are similar to damage done by CMV....for sure. I think I can eliminate the herbicide angle, however. I have multiple problems that involve both in-ground (organic amendments added) soil and commercial potting mix plants that were grown in containers.

Both farm-composted and commercially bagged products have been contaminated.

Both garden plants and those in containers have been affected.

Do the bio-assay!

Yes, indeed.

Do a bio-assay.

As in - plant some peas and find out if it is your soil/mix that is contaminated. It doesn't sound that difficult ;-)
