Renovating our attic. Ugly chimney exposed. Would fake brick work?

In renovating our attic, the contractor pulled off the drywall that had been surrounding the chimney. Now there's a nice pass-through. But - I don't want to just drywall the chimney again. Wondering if that thin brickwork might be effective. Thank you very much for any insight!

No worries. I'm not at all stuff either but is the chimney ok to leave as is and have it itself as a feature. Or would a rendered brickwork look ok??

Thank you so much for responding, Anna! The contractor dry-walled the chimney while I was out! So - that's that! I have been thinking, though, that I might just get some of that faux brick to put around it. I'm still trying to post the photos - but I can't seem to get them on here. Anyway - very kind of you to respond!
