IMO wolf is overpriced and overrated

Why do you care what is ''coveted''? Aren't you actually going to cook on it yourself? If cooking is important, then likely none of those would make your short list. Capital or Bluestar would. If a range as a fashion accessory is what is important, again, none of those would make the list. Molteni would be on top of the list --IF you had the budget for a 75K bespoke range.

I'll give you my feelings, and I'm sure a lot of people would disagree. I really don't care about having a high end range. When our kitchen was remodeled, and I was prioritizing, I discovered that it just isn't important to me. Yes, I cook and bake quite a bit, but as long as my range (had to go with range over wall ovens due to spacing priorities) works adequately I'm good. No way would I spend that kind of money on something I FEELis more of an emotional preference for prestige. So yeah.

A high end appliance will either be part of your budget or it won't. Let's say a homeowner spends 12k on a 48" Thermador range. Unless they've budgeted that much for a single appliance, it's going to come out of something else --the floor, cabinetry, lighting. So one must decide what else there is to spend money on in the overall scheme of things. Often, a remodel isn't just a kitchen, it's a bathroom, hallways, even the driveway and landscaping. Appliances are just one thing in a list of many. If what's in the budget is a 30" Samsung, then get that. Someone who knows how to cook, will still make fantastic meals. Don't worry about prestige, rather, be honest in assessing one's lifestyle, cooking interest, and budget over buying someone just for the sake of impressing others.

Who cares what's coveted. Get one that you like.
