Passion fruit::: somethings happening

hi everyone,

I'll try and be brief but detailed. Iv been growing my passion fruit plant since last year from a seed, I actually got the fruit from the dominican republic. Last year it grew a great amount but no fruit which i was expecting for the first year, and now thats its been nice outside (long island ny, zone 7) i started planter her outside.

Iv been noticing some of the leaves are being "chewed up" or at least holes in alot of them. she is in my front yard so she is exposed to alot of elements including bugs and today i actually spotted what looks like a beetle.

Iv included a few pictures, any help and how to nurse her back to health would be greatly appropriated

Slugs rule Nassau and Suffolk nightlife. Go out with a flashlight and you are sure to find them snacking on some Dominican passion leaves lol. The bug pictured looks like a big lady bug which should actually protect the plant. You need to find a way to have that plant run more and it will fruit this summer. I gifted that plant to my buddy in Queens and his has taken over his back fence, you would be amazed to see it. If you believe it's some pest other than slugs then just spray the leaves with soap water at sundown.

Slugs, caterpillar, weevil, beetles and more all work to destroy your garden.

What is happening wherever you are can only be answered by you inspecting for the culprits.

If you do not see anything during the daytime go out several times at night with if possible a white LED light to look for insects. Lok under the leaves as well as on top.

I go out every night with pliers and scrunch dozens of leaf chomping insects.
