KraftMaid Cabinet reviews

Purchased KraftMaid from Lowes and are many tiny flaws on the craftsmanship. 2 were damaged enough to need replacing. A month later replacements arrived - also damaged.

Has anyone had any experience with Kraftmaid?

I'm extremely disappointed and very frustrated.

    I have.

I spent a sinful amount of money on my kitchen. "Lowered my standards"for the cabinets in the laundry room, so I went with Kraftmaid. Shame on me. They were great...much better than the $$$$ ones.

I did not buy them from a big box store, however. I don't know enough about that to make a positive statement, but maybe that is why mine were so good? Could there be a difference in quality?

I have heard about that issue with appliances.

JudyG, I'm wondering about that point. Perhaps the big box store (Lowes) gets the lesser quality of KraftMaid? I've asked this question on another site and am waiting for a reply. I've been reading very similar experiences from other customers and their cabinets were also bought through Lowes. We thought that buying them this route would eliminate the very issues we are having.

I spent a lot of money on Kraftmaid when we built our house. Over the years the paint has buckled, peeled, and flaked. Kraftmaid says this is normal. Just so you know. Happy for those who had good experiences, but I would never do business with them again.

NEVER buy Kraftmaid. I bought $13k worth of cabinetry and 100% of my order was damaged and they are refusing to replace and/or reimburse me for the cabinets.

The cabinets have paint splotches, uneven paint job, cracked joints, and various other defects. All of which they say are 'standard wear and tear (wear and tear on DAY 1???) On top of all of that, their customer services sucks! Going back and forth with Lowes/Kraftmaid for the last 6 months and I was told today by Lowes that if I wanted a better paint job I should have purchased the cheaper MDF line! How does that make sense????

I plan to put this review up anywhere on the internet I can find asking for a review of Kraftmaid so others do not make the same mistake I did! DO NOT BUY KRAFTMAID

I ordered my Kraftmaid cabinets from Home Depot on July 27 2021. I was given an ETA of 16-18 weeks. They finally arrived In January 2022 with lots of damage. So much damage that the installer won't install till replaced as it effects their workmanship warranty.  The replacements are not scheduled to arrive till 4/8/2022. I just received another updated that says the delivery date has changed....to an unknown no

date. So it all sits in the dining room

Do not order Kraftmaid. Do not order from a Big Box store. Go local from real cabinet shops. It's about to become a legal concern for Home Depot if this is not corrected and done by Easter 2022.

I ordered Kraftmaid vantage kitchen cabinets from a local dealer last spring. The shipment arrived in 6 weeks and was nearly perfect. The one thing that needed to be replaced was quickly handled by the dealer. I should add that my cabinets are stained, not painted, so less potential for problems with the finish. I would certainly order Kraftmaid again, but only from a dealer, and with all the upgrades of the vantage line.

It is 2024 and I am still having quality issues with Kraftmaid cabinets purchased through Lowes. Talking to Lowes does not work. Call the shipper/manufacturer in Ohio directly 1(888) 562-3413, wait on hold, give your customer Purchase order and part number and they will send you a replacement. I believe damage is happening in shipping. I’ve received replacements that also arrived damaged, replacements can take up to 4 weeks so call right away.

OMG, We are having the similar experiences to many of you with KraftMaid. We are still trying to get our kitchen remodel to START, months later. First delivery, the logistics crew came late after man other deliveries and wouldn't deliver them up our front steps into our 1st floor ( $47k order worth of cabinets wouldn't come in the door; the driver just left). Then, came back over week later and when we had our cabinet inspection, the contractor found that 12 of the largest cabinets were damaged and had to be sent back. Our replacement order was apparently 'expedited' but we are still trying to get answers of any date it will be here. Customer service and communication has been horrible. Now we find out they 'should' ship tomorrow, and I won't find out a delivery date until next week some time. This has pushed our *paid* Home Depot contractor date out so far that now they are pushing us until mid-April to start the project. We feel like we're just at the mercy of this vendor that doesn't care, and we went with Home Depot because we thought it would be great for them to help coordinate and get it done relatively easy for us -- big mistake. Home Depot has just not really been in the middle of it and helping out -- Kitchen design was GREAT, but then you sign on the dotted line, and ever since it's like we're on our own fighting with the vendor and it's been SO frustrating.

As far as quality goes, still not sure as 95 boxes of cabinetry is still sitting in my large dining/living room waiting for the project to be started. Hopefully it is worth all the investment and suffering, and holds up in the long run :/.
