Do nothing! Many people would kill for a fireplace like that.

That fireplace is a selling feature for your house.

The fireplace is very nice, don't change it, I only dislike those flooring tiles (hearth) that don't match the fireplace.

Remove knick kncacks and change out the tile if u feel like it.

Paint the brass black, and change the tile on the floor.

The hearth needs to change, go with a single color modern tile

If it were my place I would either stucco over the brick, or cover with a drywall or a smooth tile with very little or no grout lines.

The brass is a bit dated, but would look modern if paired with the right colors (greys ?)

Wow, I have only seen that style once in person. FLR designed house. A full corner firebox with out support is simply not heard of because of the engineering challenge and you want to tear it out? Perhaps you should see a Dr. before you see a realtor.

I need an update on this post, did they leave it alone or try to change it? It might not be the most modern looking but I agree with most of these posters, there are some big positives to a fireplace like that. What happened?

What DK and Sons said! You need your head examined for even THINKING about doing anything to it! I hope you haven't touched the rest of the house either! I recently bought a mcm home and as nice as my fp's are, I'd kill for that one!
