Good call...I was looking at images with the RO faucet right off the corner of the cutout which made no sense.

I like having the RO faucet near the edge so that I can fill things on the counter, but also the sink.

Aesthetically I like it off to the side also, because it is a different size than the faucet. so it feels right to me. I agree about not having it crowd the faucet.

I wish I had thought about placement before I had my holes cut. I just had my granite installed this morning and when they asked us where we wanted the holes, my SO and I had a disagreement about where they should go, and I didn't feel like arguing with him, so I let him get his way. Now I don't care for the way it looks, but it is too late to change it. (I'll get over it. Too many other things to love and appreciate in the new kitchen.)

Why do you want an option to fill at the counter?

Is it due to it being slow so you leave it to fill on the counter if you have dishes in the sink?

This is us. 40/60, but we use the 60 side as our dump/wash/scrape area. DW is on the right. A big deal to me was keeping the RO on the side that wasn't going to be splashed with food, grease, etc.

We don't fill our pots (for cooking) with RO, though a pot would fit in the 40 side anyway. We use RO primarily for drinking and coffee/tea water.

Another good point on proximity to the main cleaning area as the spout is lower than your typical sink faucet.

I plan to have an RO line on the fridge as well in case someone is cleaning/prepping.

Yes, here is a picture. I wish the water handle was closer to the faucet, but there was a bracket for the sink at 6", and my SO was afraid 4" would have been too close so we went with 8".

In our old set up I liked having the option to put a pot or measuring cup on the counter because the water didn't have to drop as far down into the deep sink when filling something. It would splash. This is a new RO system and the faucet is really high, so that may be even more of an issue now.

However, we have Prolific sink with shelves, so I can probably avoid needing to use the counter, since we can set things higher than the bottom of the sink on a cutting board or drain board.

I have had flooded counters before in the old kitchen and I'm going to try hard not to let that happen in the new kitchen. I will probably try to make it habit to use the sink instead. I still wanted it closer to edge just in case.

Here is my placement selection ideology if it helps anyone. My disposal will be on the right 40 side of the 60:40 split. So the disposal button will be 2 inches off the sink's right edge. The main faucet will be centered on the sink ridge, and the RO beverage faucet will be centered on drain on the 60 side. The reasoning is that the beverage faucet has a 360 degree swivel so it can spin around to get out of the way if necessary, but can easily fill a large pot in the 60 side of the sink or swivel to the island countertop behind the sink if I want to fill a saucepan while dishes are in the 60 sink. It also looks intentional centered on that drain and is not too far away from the main faucet. I'll repost a photo when all is installed.
