    This is Ilex glabra 'Shamrock', our native inkberry holly. If kept pruned, this plant makes a lovely soft hedge for screening. In this photo, the holly screens AC condensers along the side of the garage. The greens are lovely for cutting around the holidays for soft fillers in bouquets or garlands around the fireplace mantel.
