Hi friends...We are building a new home and I want to have a countertop in our pantry like this picture. We originally understood that the trim carpenter could build a base for this countertop but he referred us to the cabinetmaker. Today we received a quote from the cabinetmaker which I feel is a bit high so what do ya'll think would be a reasonable charge for someone to build and install this?
Important details:
It needs to be about 7 feet long, no curve or corner, it will be just one straight piece
Base only, the upper shelves are being done by the trim carpenter
No doors or drawers on bottom, just real simple shelves
Countertop itself will be laminate
We are in the midwest
