You might want to try before you buy. Some people like the rain heads, but many don't. I'm on the "don't" team; the water runs straight in your face unless you step out of the water altogether (and then freeze). I don't know how those who like them actually use them, they have a trick I haven't figured out. They look cool, but they aren't for everyone.

I'm on the do side. I don't understand why people have an issue with water on their faces - it's a shower, for heavens sake. You face is supposed to get wet. But by all means, try them out in a hotel or somewhere. If you don't like a cascade of hot water massaging your whole body (face included) then get a hand held only. It will do both jobs.

Handheld will get your hairs wet, just not on your head.

I am on the don't side as well. (I won't even go to hotels or vacation homes with them because I hate them so much.) Try one before you buy it because people love them or hate them.

We absolutely love ours!! We have a rarely used handheld as well. We use it only on our dog.
