I see a lot of warm gray - pale , you call it oatmeal .. . deeper it isn't silver or blue at all . I think your rug works nicely with your other elements .. do bring home sofa fabrics and test them all before you leap ..

Thank you Paul for commenting. I'm worried the room will be too busy. The wallpaper and chair work so well together I'm concerned adding more color even if in the same family will be too much. I'll look into adding some green. I have a feeling it's going to be a bit of a challenge!!

I don't think you have to worry about the room being too busy from the rug. This chair is great and will be a simple punctuation mark when the room is finished. I might have gone more oatmeal / textural / berber / thick / with a bit more warm gray in it / if only to signal something more contemporary but if you are going for a traditional space the rug tones are fine. Select your large upholstered seating next . . I can see a few accents in green but I'd stick with neutrals white to oatmeal to warm gray / mid tone warm grays that pick up on a softer tone of the "fan handle" color in the print. There's your neutrals range as defined by the things already in the room.
