I have high gloss Ikea cabinets and they are really easy to clean with a damp microfiber cloth and vinegar water not one bit harder than any other finish. I run a catering biz from my house so my kitchen gets a lot of use .

I just installed the Ringhult and think they are gorgeous-but I like a glossy modern look. They are MUCH easier to clean than my previous cabinets which were painted and had a flatter finish.

This company makes doors that fit Ikea cabinets and offer a huge variety of styles and colours from which you can choose.

Many HGTV designers use Ikea cabinets and doors but get them professionally spray painted. This is a surprisingly reasonable price and then you can custom choose your paint colour.

Ikea has some great choices for sure but sometimes you can look at a room and it screams "IKEA" which may not be the look that we are all trying to achieve.

If you do choose super plain doors, then try to choose really nice handles with interest and/or colour.

I don't think you can go wrong with a white kitchen but it certainly doesn't have to be plain.

Thank you for your opinions!!! I know Ringhult is easy to clean as I wipe it everyday in my small bathroom :) I have high gloss floor tiles and all spots and stains are easily visible, when I look towards the windows - won't it be the same with glossy vertical surface on standing cabinets?

Any stain on a white cabinet would be visible-but I do think these would be hard to stain. You might see water spots that weren't wiped in but I think that depends on the lighting. I have large windows above my cabinets (12 ft ceilings) so they are more backlit-what I really see are reflections in the shine.

I had white painted wood more traditional and it was far harder to keep those little groves clean-they seemed to attract dirt and pet hair.
