What is the purpose of the room? Is it just a home office, or do you want it to function as a den? The room doesn't look huge. Maybe a nice rug and two big comfy chairs with a big table and lamp floating in the center of the room.

The desk is beautiful and looks great there. I like Becky's suggestion of a rug and chairs for office visitors - maybe a bright antique Kilim or Guatemalan or a contemporary geometric design flat weave - bright colors would add contrast and a spot of fun.

Deco has handed you a perfect plan! Even if you can only do it in stages I'd begin with covering the rad and moving the desk into the wonderful light you'd have there.

Thank you all. Those are great ideas. I'm wondering if I have to stick the table at the corner ( outlet issues). How can I tie the room together. I feel like it is just random pieces of furnitures in that room now.

I thought I saw an outlet in the baseboard left of the window. Maybe not. Why don't you scan my floor plan and draw in the outlets and we'll take another run at it. This is the first time I've seen your furniture, and I just guessed at measurements.

Thanks. There are 2 outlets at at each side of the window. Another outlet at the back of the sofa. Room is about 12ft x 20 ft.

This is adjusted to your room size, eliminating 2 chairs, I added lamps where the outlets can be reached. Coffee table didn't get moved away from the sofa, but you know to do that.

You may want to consider TVCoverUps. Original art or framed mirror adds to the room's decor, with the hidden TV beneath!

I've pulled out all the furniture I suggested. Now the only additions are two floor lamps and a rug which should be large enough to slip under the front 1/3 of the sofa. It should extend past the sides by a foot or so and should leave a foot or more between the rug and the fireplace hearth.
