My lupines are, right on schedule, being eaten alive by aphids. I spray and spray with dilute dish detergent everyday, getting the undersides of the leaves, and the plant is covered with the dessicated bodies of dead aphids, and yet there are always new ones. The plant looks awful; the leaves are yellowing and curling. If I cut it down to nothing now, in mid-July, will it come back in the spring? It's a three-year-old plant that grows and blooms beautifully in May and June, but then these darn bugs show up and the foliage ends up looking terrible.
