I would add window trim and some contrasting paint. To tie in your railing and post lamp, I would add black accents-Front door, new light over garage, carriage hardware on garage. Would also stain your concrete foundation darker. Then add more colorful plants.

A portico over the front entry, including the little window, would be the biggest and best improvement. Contrasting paint on the windows will help them look better, and full-size shutters if they are in the budget. I can't tell if you can add much to the landscape, but some color there would be good.

I usually do not advise shutters but i think you need thenm here and as mentioned make sure they are the right size and I agree a potico would be a very good addition and if possible widen the actual steps going to the door

Stain that brick and add shutters

I don't think you need to stain your brick. Maybe Beverly is thinking of the little garrison colonial several of us commented on. Might be a good idea for it.

I do mean stain the brick. IMO that maroony brick could look better as grey

I think dealing with that brick would be a real pain since it appears that some of it protrudes from the facade. That may be due to camera angle, but if it is true there will still be shadows cast by the bricks, so it won't improve things much and will add to the cost. What color would you stain it, Beverly?
