Tesla , you suggested black and charcoal, I'm simply providing a sample picture to illustrate you concept. Why ask then about heat? Stain instead of paint if you can. Less maintenance

I asked about heat in my original post because I've heard staining a house black may not be the best idea for a house in the sun...and thus think my concept may be ill advised!

A stain in a weathered wood look would update look while keeping the wood look intact. A good stain will help preserve the wood as well. No white trim. Keep the trim in the same color as stain only perhaps a shade or two darker. Continue to use color in your accents like pots etc. if you cluster your pots in a couple of groups varying their heights it will give a more decorative look instead of in a line across the front of the deck. Use bricks or stone slabs to vary heights.

I think natural wood makes far more sense in your setting than any paint color. I would leave as is, fixing or repairing as needed. And no white trim either.

I think I would paint/stain this a lighter color and keep it cheery;)

I am a huge lover of soft gray/ greens for homes in the woods it is very neutral and always looks fresh with white trim

I would go with a medium driftwood color. It will "weather" well! No white trim. You don't need it with this house and it will look odd, IMO.
