Stub up guys were here Monday, July 25th

Monday evening, storm forecasted...and we have to cover - didn't get a picture of completed stub-out before covering up.

good thing - might have been fine, but better safe, than sorry...

Inspection this morning Tuesday July 26th for pressure test and steel check...gunite still scheduled for Thursday - if still on schedule after the rain. Plumber back on Friday and Electrical Saturday. Tile, coping and rockwork next Wednesday. Passed pressure test, couldn't inspect steel - too much water. Will pump out and reschedule.

Well...with the flash flood rains on Tuesday before we had to leave town for funeral services, we put in a 1HP pump that also pumps out solids with a float switch attached to 2 1/2" pvc hose to try to help contain any damage...

That's my husband, there's about 4 feet of water in the deep end. Some slough off, but no cave-in. Lots of silt.

You can see the ladder - and the water line - it had already pumped out about 10 inches in almost 20 minutes...

Wednesday evening we returned to a yellow tag due to lack of 3" minimum spacing below rebar from silt covering up the steel. We used a hose and washed it all down to the pump and pumped it out. Got a green tag on Thursday. Fingers crossed for gunite on Friday.

Gunite came Saturday morning. Plumbing scheduled for Monday, electrical for Tuesday, inspection Wednesday. Hopefully tile, coping and rockwork starts on Friday. Moving along...

Any updates?

Electrical and Plumbing were completed last Wednesday. Inspection was Thursday. Tile, coping, and rock are set to start today sometime...

Too much rain...again.

It rained the day they poured the deck - we had to put plastic on it. Thank goodness we were doing a spray overlay. Would've been a mess.

Plaster work - Sunstone Superblue. These guys did a great job!!

Filling it up on September 8th. Lots of brushing and running the pump nonstop for several days...

The first one in!! This was during the start up. We chose to do the traditional start up so we could swim right away.

Spray Deck Topping Was September 14th, 2016

Spray Deck Color applied today!! I chose Acryladek with Cool Feel from Sherwin Williams and had them match it to Brickform's Oyster White. Great Color, with good neutrality...not too tan, not too ashy green - some other colors looked nearly pink next to the flagstone. And all that is left is gas meter exchange and final inspections! Yay! We made it! The rain truly held up our project. It could have easily been done in 3 weeks flat; city permitting office with it's initial delay unfortunately put us into the rain's path. Next up - putting green.

Looks great! Came together nicely. Keep us informed in the putting green, I plan doing one behind the pool but will have to be next year. Great weather this week to enjoy!

What has your cost been up to this point? We've considered, and compared, traditional gunite through a pool company, fiberglass, and DIY in ground w/ liner. But we haven't looked into DIY gunite.
