sorcer, the Plant Exchange, where you posted your request earlier, is the proper forum to ask for plants, cuttings, etc. Gardenweb/Houzz policy discouages swapping, selling, and buying of anything in their general forums.

Since you don't live in a climate suitable for growing lemongrass in the garden, I'd visit any alternative (for lack of a better word) market you may have in your community or nearby. Whole Foods, Sprouts, EarthFare, Asian markets, and a locally owned organic market are where I shop for fresh, non-everyday ingredients like lemongrass.

If you are growing it in containers, try a locally owned, as opposed to big box, garden center.

You can also try the online herb vendors if you strike out with lemongrass stalks. Try Richters or Strictly Medicinal.

Lemongrass is super easy to grow from seed if you have trouble locating a source for the stalks. I usually get usable sized plants in about 4 months. I grow them in containers and overwinter them in a south facing window. It makes a lovely container plant;-))

There are two plants that are called lemon grass. One is grown from seed, Cymbopogon flexuosus, and the other from roots, Cymbopogon citratus.
