Take your cue from the roof. A much deeper rust tone. Sorry.......no teal

Mater Metal, or color that flatters the roof. I like the simplicity of your house.... I would get a large iron piece to center above windows in gable right of your entryway.... clean all that mess up and power wash, come in with mulch and plantings, lighting, and maybe stain concrete porch and walkways.... You desperately need landscaping.

All I see when I look at the picture is the dirty stairs. And it looks to me like the sidewalk could be expanded?

I think a bright color could be great, but I'm not sure that teal will really go well with your roof once it changes from coppery tones to the eventual green. Has that really not happened yet? It's such a... whitish green, with aqua undertones, that it can be hard to anticipate. I might just go with a bright color to cheer up my doorway for now, and change things up once the green has really settled in.

I agree with Katharine. I would opt for more blue than green. From the swatches above, I like Glimmering Wings or Fender Flash.

No metallic and no teal. If the chairs are staying, I would do charcoal black. Also, those steps are not to code. Way too steep. I would have those steps replaced before I spent a penny on painting the door because the door color you have looks perfectly fine. Order a set of precast steps that go all the way across.

You should paint your door a color that makes you smile every time you walk in the house.

My first reaction was also to have the stairs changed first! Wider, comfortable height, width and fully extended to the right; I say to the right since I noticed a small door on the left bottom which probably can not be cancelled completely. If it can be, than have the stairs extended to both sides completely: this will make the whole entrance look larger. You can always decorate the steps with lovely pots and seasonal shade loving plants.

NO to teal since you intend to plant that area; teal and green foliage will kill each other. Be brave and go for a lighter (or brighter) & contrasting colour to enhance your plants and brighten up the entrance, it will be more "inviting".

Terri- The mettalic paint will be too garish, but it sounds like you would like a pop of color. So I would suggest going with color, not a neutral black or copper, etc. There are beautiful shades of blue or green that would look perfect with your copper roof. Sand the door, use an oil based primer, then two coats of an oil based paint. It will have some sheen, but not be garish like a metallic. The door doesn't have to match anything, let it be a stand out! Go for color!! :)
