We need storage for a big family, so have designed a cabinetry setup in the dining room using Ikea cabinets: 1 tall pantry on either end, with base cabinetry in the middle (there's a 4 inch wide box of switches that's 14-18 inches from the left end of the wall, that's why the cabinets don't extend to the end of the wall). The cabinets are highly functional in terms of providing the storage that we need, but the appearance is clunky to me, looks like it's missing something. Glass upper cabinets are a stretch budgetwise and I don't have much "pretty stuff" to display in them anyway. Are there other ways to make this layout look better, more graceful? Perhaps putting something in the middle as a bridge, or using molding? I lack the creativity gene and would greatly appreciate your help.

p.s. The ceiling is 8 feet high (96 inches) and these pantries come in 80 or 90 inches heights...pictured here are the 90inch high pantries, and when you add in the 4.5 inch toe-kick, the tops are pretty much at ceiling height (same as the cabinets in the kitchen that this dining room opens up onto).
