Put the towel ring on the wall to the left of the sink. Just make sure it doesn't stick out too far.

Instead of a towel ring, I prefer to use a toilet paper holder like the one shown below for the hand towel, and of course another one of the same kind

for the TP. Reason: A towel ring takes up more wall space because of the size of the ring. I also use the same style TP holder in the kitchen and mount it on the underside of the upper cabinet near the sink so hold a hand towel.

So, if you use a TP holder for your hand towel, I would install it above the light switch on the wall to the left of the pedestal sink.

I like dispoable towels in my powder room who wants to dry there hands on a towel that has beemn used by prople not in the family I put the box of them on the back of the toilet if you have no vanity.I wouls add some wallpaper to this really plain room and much more interesting art and nor hung staggered.

Hi, Pop it on the left and a TP on the right wall - both chrome. Is there a third butterfly picture in the series?.. try to keep with the magic number three with accessories it gives balance and is more appealing to our human brains. All the best and I hope it helps.

I would suggest a free standing towel holder placed to the right of the sink. The room currently looks unbalanced to me with the toilet placed so close to the wall. Agree with previous comment that art work should not be staggered above toilet.

Thank you all for your advice. Unfortunately we already have the towel ring as it came as part of the package and we can't return it so would like to use it.

Also, the two decorative items I purchased while out of town as I liked them quite a bit and therefore can not buy a 3rd. I also can't now move them as we had to use anchors in the wall due to the weight of them. We'd have to repaint and I'd prefer not to have to move the sink/toilet again. Do they really look that terrible the way they are laid out. I should really learn to ask these questions PRIOR to moving forward with permanently placing items, but I'd really like some additional items to warm up the space and make it more cozy/inviting.

Does anyone else have any other items for making the room less plain?

Maybe a better question is what are you willing to do to make this room less plain. I've read some really great suggestions, including wallpaper. It's not a big deal to repair the wall where anchors were with joint compound and remaining paint. Those pictures don't look very heavy, and shouldn't need heavy duty wall anchors to hang them.

There isn't much you can do, since you already painted and decorated and aren't looking to change any of those things. Maybe a wicker trash bin.

Coral towels would be very pretty with your wall color or any other place you could use it. Aqua blue would also be pretty.

White towels and just 1.5" between the 2 art pieces.

Great suggestions, but she already stated she is not willing to move the prints. I like the orange towel suggestion. That would go well against the green.

Is painting the frames of the mirror and the art an option?

Place it to the right next to the mirror within easy reach. I would look for something interesting to put between the sink and toilet, I'm not sure what but maybe a ceramic stool in a bright color or a rustic wood table. You might have to try different thing so make sure you can return. Homeplace is good for these items.

I won't be painting the frame, but I could move it out of that room along with the art. What do you think of going a different route with this mirror above the sink?

I would look for art first and then pick a mirror to compliment. Something like this would give some texture...and then maybe some silver in the mirror and other accessories.

The black/dark wood doesn't work with the white and green.

Remove the butterfly prints and mirror. Install a small cabinet above the sink. This is a guest bath room? I would choose something open shelved and store towels, soap, hand lotion and a sweet display of cheeky paperbacks.

The exposed toilet plumbing is a concern. How about a tiny Pier 1-like floor cabinet between the sink and loo?
