The shaker cabinets would go with either style..the other ones are either traditional (1) or modern (4 and 5). When you say accent, where is that going to be? Is it a back splash, in the shower?

The subway and marble hex accent are in the shower area only (which to be honest is currently going to be covered with a shower curtain - no glass door) the accent will be in the shampoo box also

You could do the hex on the floor as well..I don't know how much floor you need to cover though, so that might get a bit expensive.

that's the reasoning behind using a different tile. the hex marble i found is at $7 and I have about 30 ft. to cover. which is doable, but i was just aiming for around $3/foot for the flooring

is marble OK to use on the floor? this is a rental situation, so I'm trying to keep costs down, plus take into account that the person using/cleaning the space might not be so careful

no windows - I'm planning on putting in can lights in the ceiling to brighten it up, plus a large vanity mirror cabinet. In general it's really small - but I though a darker floor, contrasted against light walls might work?

OK - decision i'm making (I think) is, gray hex tile floor, subway tile (keep it simple) in the shower, plus the white shaker vanity. Keep it simple, classic for my renter/guest bath and make it fun with accessories like art, mirror and lighting. The hex floor is already interesting enough, right? :)

Yes, that sounds good; definitely no marble or any other pricey material that can be easily damaged. Renters can do a number on your property.
