Photo true to color?

This may be impossible to answer, but are the photos as seen on line (using all of my Apple devices!) look the same as they appear in person? I've picked up the color swatch of Duxbury Gray and it looks a bit more green and darker than the photos. This is a lovely kitchen and I very much want to paint my cabinets the same color.....as it appears on line. Thanks!

We just did a kitchen with the same colors. Knowing our current kitchen was being gutted, I painted one whole cabinet in Duxbury Gray, just so I could see it on a big scale on a daily basis before I made my decision. It's a color that really changes based on the light during the day. In bright light, in my opinion, it looks more green. At night, on cloudy days in artificial light, it looks more blue.

This is with the sun streaming in, shining directly on the cabinet.

This was taken at the same time, but the other side of the room, with the sun behind it. It looks a little darker, a little more blue.

And here it is at night, with artificial light. As you can see, it looks totally different. Very blue.

Hi Angel,

I find that color is very subjective. I think we all see it a little differently and of course, different light conditions affect how we see color as well.

The best way to really see what a color will look like in your particular space, with its own light conditions, is to purchase a small sample can of the paint and paint a sample of the same type of wood as your cabinets with the same number of coats, primer plus 2, as you are going to paint your cabinets. Look at it in your space and see what you think!

Thank YOU! Yours was our inspiration kitchen! I'm sure you can see several things that are similar to the kitchen you designed. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right? We're 99% done with the remodel, just a few little things here and there, but we've been using the kitchen for about a week now and love it. I felt that we were going a bit bold on the cabinet color, and I almost chickened out and did white. I'm glad I didn't; I love that it's something a little different.

I paired a Duxbury Gray island with White Dove cabinets and painted the backs of our glass door cabinets Duxbury Gray as well. Your kitchen(s) are all beautiful and inspiring and if mine weren't so dang dirty right now, I'd gladly add a few pictures:)

Beautiful kitchen!!! Do you know if the bottom cabinets are a standard size, especially the hutch style cabinet on the end and how deep is the upper cabinet?

The hutch style cabinet is an inch or so deeper than standard, around 26" rather than 24". This was so, even though the counter top is continuous, the unit would read as a separate piece. The upper open shelves are 14" deep.
