Cat found a bird in my house!

Today I heard my strictly indoor cat meowing strangely, so I went to see what was up. I found her with a small bird in her mouth. After I cornered her to take the bird from her, I picked the poor thing up and it died in my hands. I still cannot believe a bird managed to get in the house. No windows or doors were open, the only thing was that yesterday my husband left the garage door open all day. He thinks perhaps the bird got in the garage, and then, when he went in the house through the garage, somehow the bird came in with him. It seems odd that he wouldn't notice a bird coming inside with him. Strange, isn't it?

I once found a wild finch inside my car and a squirrel under the hood but never a wild bird in my house.

That happened to my friend. It came in through a heater vent, and the cat got it.

They can get in through the chimney too.

I have heard of them getting in through the chimney, but my fireplace has glass doors that are always closed in the summer, so if a bird managed to get in the chimney, it would find itself trapped inside the fireplace. . I really can't explain it,. But my little tigress always finds little critters that find their way in. This usually means the occasional mouse.

ha! you guys are lightweights. one of my past great danes brought a possum in through the dog door. it was very much alive, just playing dead. eww!!
