Design Dilemma: How many is too many flooring types?

Building a new home (rustic/modern style). The main common areas (entry, dining, kitchen, and living room will all have 24x24 limestone floors (honed). The master bedroom is downstairs and connects to the living room. Rather than limestone in the bedroom, I want to do wood for a "warmer" feel. Then, I'm thinking, polished/stained concrete in the master bath.

My question is this...is three different flooring types on the same floor (i.e., living room-stone; master-wood; and bathroom-concrete) a design faux pa?

I've had someone suggest that you should minimize the different types of floors used so as not to have more than one transition from room to room.
