Remodel Gone Bad

I hired my ex-boss and her boyfriend as the designer and builder for my home remodel. I paid them and others hired by them and discovered that the work performed is defective. My home is uninhabitable and I am unemployed so I am working with a very limited budget. Can you help me with some ideas to complete my remodel?

If it is truly uninhabitable and you cannot get an occupancy permit, get legal advice first. Do not throw good money after bad. Deal with the problem at hand first; recover your money.

P S, where was the building inspector while all this was going on?

Matter is already in litigation but it is the home my family and I were going to move into so we are still paying mortgage and really want to move into it so we are trying to move forward. I welcome your ideas.
